What Are Side Channels for Window Treatments, and Why Do They Matter?
Side channels are vertical tracks installed on either side of a shade, blind, or curtain that lock the fabric or slats in place as they raise and lower. They close the light gaps that otherwise run down each edge of a window treatment, add resistance to drafts and wind, improve a room's insulation, and give the finished installation a cleaner, more tailored edge. Interior and exterior versions are available, and most are compatible with roller shades.
